Dr. Richard Bush opened our practice in 1959 and practiced until 1999. His son Dr. Stephen Bush has been practicing since 1985. Currently Dr. Katherine Goodwin, a third generation family member, carries on the legacy of her father and grandfather by delivering the outstanding dental care and services the clinic’s patients have come to expect.
Dr. Stephen Bush has been practicing general dentistry at Kearney Dental Clinic for over 30 years. He is a 1981 graduate of Kearney State College with a Bachelor's of Science and a 1985 graduate of UNMC Dental College. In 1985, Dr. Steve began practicing with his father, Dr. Richard Bush, as a second-generation general dentist at Kearney Dental Clinic. Now, Dr. Steve is excited to welcome his daughter, Dr. Katherine Goodwin into the practice.
Dr. Steve is a member of the American Dental Association and the Nebraska Dental Association. He also volunteers to accept dental, dental hygiene and dental assisting students into his office for extramural learning opportunities. In his free time, Dr. Steve enjoys spending time with his family, exercise and running, and being outdoors.

Dr. Katherine (Bush) Goodwin is a 2013 graduate of UNMC College of Dentistry. Dr. Kate graduated from UNMC with high distinction. She is a Kearney High School and University of Nebraska-Kearney alumna.
Dr. Kate is very excited to be following in her father and grandfather's footsteps at Kearney Dental Clinic. "It's incredible to see the passion that they have for this profession. I'm extremely blessed with the opportunity to continue to serve the Kearney community."
Dr. Kate resides in Kearney with her husband, Wade, and two sons. Dr. Kate enjoys being part of the Kearney community, volunteering with the Yanney Park Foundation and Alpha Phi sorority, and being active in athletics and the outdoors with her family.
Michelle Reinsch has been a dental hygienist at KDC for 28 years. Prior to working with us, she worked for a periodontist. She is a 1983 graduate of Central Community College Hygiene Program. Michelle first became interested in dentistry because she loved going to the dentist as a child. She was determined to be a health professional and work in a field that allowed her to interact with people. Michelle enjoys dental hygiene because it gives her the opportunity to build a personal relationship with patients and educate patients on oral health care. Michelle is married to Rick and has one son, Mannie. She enjoys exercise, attending athletic events and being outdoors.
Deb has been a dental hygienist at KDC for 15 years. She is a 2000 graduate of Central Community College Hygiene Program. Prior to hygiene school, Deb worked in accounting at a grain elevator. Deb always had an interest in the dental field, but it wasn’t until her cousin graduated from dental school that she decided to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. Deb enjoys visiting with patients and getting to form connections beyond dental care. Deb enjoys spending time with her two children and time at the lake in the summer.
Jacque Herman has been a dental hygienist in our office for 5 years. She is a 2010 graduate of Central Community College Hygiene Program. Jacque became interested in the dental field after working in a dental office in college. Jacque is especially talented at working with children and helping them to have an enjoyable dental experience. She loves dental hygiene because it gives her the opportunity to meet new people. In her free time, Jacque enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters.
Sherry has been a dental assistant in our practice for 28 years. She is certified in radiology and coronal polishing. Sherry became interested in dentistry through a family friend, who introduced her to Dr. Richard Bush. She has worked with three generations of Bush dentists! (Dr. Bush, Dr. Steve, and Dr. Kate) Sherry enjoys dentistry because it allows her to work with patients and to help restore patients’ dental health and beautiful smiles. Sherry is a mother to four children and grandmother of eight grandchildren. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family, friends, and dogs.
Morgan has been a dental assistant for 5 years. She worked as dental assistant for two years in a pediatric dental office, which makes her our go-to assistant for working with children. Morgan was influenced to pursue a dental career by Dr. Steve. She did not like going to the dentist growing up, but found that she could help others overcome their fear of the dentist. Morgan loves being able to work with people and enjoys her coworkers. In her free time, Morgan spends time with her two American bulldogs and going to country music concerts.
Shawna has worked as a dental assistant for 4 years. She is certified in radiology and coronal polishing. Shawna was a hairdresser prior to becoming a dental assistant. She became a dental assistant because of her love of caring for people. Shawna resides in Kenesaw with her husband and two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her daughter participate in sports and dance, and volunteering as a church youth leader.
Hayley has been a dental assistant for 4 years. She is certified in radiology and coronal polishing. She is also trained in CEREC crown technology. Hayley attended UNK and CCC-Hastings prior to becoming a dental assistant. Hayley decided to pursue dental assisting because of an interest in healthcare. She enjoys the patient education aspect of dental assisting. Hayley is a 2011 graduate of Axtell High School and currently lives in Pleasanton, NE. Outside of work, Hayley teaches figure skating lessons and spends time hunting.
Kim has worked in the front office at KDC for 10 years. Kim has always enjoyed the dentist and thought that a dental office would be a great place to work. Kim says that she enjoys all aspects of her job as office manager, but especially working with people and building relationships. She has an excellent talent for remembering facts and details about our patients! Kim enjoys walking and biking and spending time with her two children.
